
Ross is a highly experienced strategist and advisor with over 35 years in urban development, infrastructure, and public policy. He currently chairs the Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Better Suburbs Initiative, is Director of not for profit urban research and policy organisation Suburban Futures, and takes on a number of industry engagements. Ross has held senior executive roles at the Property Council of Australia, was inaugural CEO of Brisbane Marketing (now BEDA) and has also led construction businesses in Queensland such as Cockram Construction and APP.
A respected leader in the sector, Ross has advised numerous firms from design to engineering, development, construction and related professional fields.
In 2024 he jointly edited a book for Suburban Futures with Guy Gibson "The Next Australian City" - which went on to win the Planning Institute of Australia's overall Queensland award for Planning Excellence. He has also authored a number of published papers on housing and urban policy, and has been a keynote speaker on both in Australia and the USA.
He graduated with a BA (Hons) from the Universitry of Queensland "a long long time ago" and has a 2020 Certificate in Commercial Real Estate Analysis from MIT (USA) with a 98% score.
